Who We Are
We are a team of enthusiastic emoji users (who isn’t?) and have made it our task to compile all available information on this topic and make it available free of charge.
The origin of this project goes back to the idea that although pretty much everyone uses dozens of emojis every day, they are used like a language of their own in which, as usual, misunderstandings and divergent interpretations can quickly spark.
This is based on both the different interpretation of each user, as well as the different representation on all end devices as well as cultural and socio-demographic differences.
What We Do
Admittedly, we don’t do much except for providing lots of emojis collectively and interpret them as objectively as possible. But therein also lies the difficulty: we have to illuminate a wide range of interpretations and agree on something close to a consensus.
In addition, there is now some overlap between emojis, smileys, emoticons, symbols and other characters where the difference is hardly recognisable for users because most end devices now offer support for all these formats.
Call it an emoji, symbol or character: What matters is that you can spice up your digital communication with all of them!
To connect people with resources to explore and provide a huuuuuuuge amount of Emojis alongside their actual meanings.
